Turkey’s Supreme Elections Board decided to cancel the results of Istanbul Municipality election held on March 31. The elections will be held again.
Turkey’s Supreme Elections Board decided to side with AKP and voted 7 against 4 to cancel the March 31 Istanbul elections and renew them at a later date.
There is increased security around the Board’s building with police bringing in barricades and other protective measures.
AKP’s extraordinary appeal which claimed up to 47 thousand restricted voters had voted in the election and that some of the ballot officers were not public officials.
